They are shutting down the streets at 8:30 am per an email from the Parade org.

I assumed it would get equally as crowded but now you pay $10 to stand in the crowd

Haven’t done Ivars in a few years now because it was just too much. Usually walk down to Bulldog where it’s not too much busier than normal.

Is it possible to eat at Parrains? We are getting in town at around 11 but we are in for baseball that night not for the parade and I was hoping to have lunch in that area. Will probably hit the bulldog as well.

I'd have to say definitely not. A lot of the businesses right there close for the parade, although Parrains probably does not. Either way, you won't be able to drive down that part of Perkins until 2pm.

While they officially shut things down at 830. Last year they were making moves around 8ish. A few friends couldn’t get through to our spot over on Ovid St last year.

Your best bet is to find somewhere on the other side of town dude. That area is packed as he’ll at the hat time.

Try Roux 61 for lunch if you want some Louisiana style food. Well off the parade route but not terribly far from campus.

I saw Ivars is doing a cover charge this year, which I don’t recall in the past

Basically a 10 dollar pass to not wait all day to piss

As an Overpasser myself, I’ll gladly take it

Even when you’re inside of Ivar’s it takes a long time to use the restroom. Even the portable ones on the patio have long lines.

I’ve never had that big of a problem until like right when the parade hits the part or ends.

Yeah for sure. Hopefully it’s not as hot as last year

I lasted like 10 minutes at Earls in that heat last year and called it a day

I never make it that far down Perkins during the day. It’s pretty much house party and then Ivars.

Last year was rough with the heat. It seems like it’s either raining or hot as balls
