WOW! So he did business the right way then decided to get greedy and cheat everyone?
Looks to me like he saw an opportunity (the flood) and took it.
Crises don't build character...they reveal it.

He's not being serious, he's a douche.

They should put him in stocks in a local area like Perkins Rowe and let people throw rotten fruit and vegetables at him.

This guy had to cheat many along the way over the years and was able to keep his A+ rating with the BBB and skirt the law.
I think people have the wrong idea about the BBB; it's really a joke, or at least it was 15 years ago when I had to almost sue a flooring company with an "A+ rating" from the BBB. Their complaint system is ridiculous; the BBB simply asks for a response from the business which a complaint is filed on, and regardless of proof of intentional wrongdoing against the business, the BBB will take its side & retain its "rating." It wasn't until my attorney & the flooring manufacturer got involved that the BBB paid any attention to my complaint. Now, when I see a business advertise its BBB rating, it means absolutely nothing to me. The public will usually never know about complaints filed with the BBB. Like I said, a complete joke, unless things have changed since I dealt with them.

I get calls from the BBB every month asking me to list with them
all they want is money
no different than JD powers and similar

How much time is this guy looking at?
my guess is 10-12 years in some low security prison for rich people and politicians at the most, that's about all they ever seem to get for crimes like this, and the restitution will only be what they can confiscate because he will immediately declare he is now bankrupt, so 80% will get nothing back and 20% will get "maybe" half their money back. I would be shocked to hear if anything more then this happens.
im sure he has already stashed most of that money offshore where it cant be found, so when he comes out of prison, he is going to be a millionare living in the caribbean islands somewhere

You almost seem to think pretty highly of him - he's not rich (not "frick you" rich at least) or a politician. It's unlikely he was ever liquid enough to stash away anything significant as he seemed to literally be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Plus his crimes are considered very horrible down here moreso than other places. He'll do hard and long time and come out a broken man.

This is probably more accurate. Plus he has the Feds up his arse and the insurance fraud alone will park serious time on him.
And they aren't finished charging him yet.

Why does this guy look so familiar

His wife is just as guilty in all this. Trust me.

135 counts of fraud in multiple parishes? This seems like it would be an absolute nightmare to both prosecute and defend. Like it could take years. Is he liquid enough to hire a big firm or a smaller one to work on this 24/7? Seems like both sides would be extremely motivated to work out a plea. Maybe slo or some other lawyers could weigh in on what that might look like.
I am certainly not hoping or advocating for this, but I wouldn't be surprised if this dude eventually offs himself.

I've been wondering the same thing. There's no doubt in my mind that I've met him before, but just cannot remember the circumstances.

Or maybe his brother

I'm no lawyer but I have to believe there's something that prevents him using the money he stole from the victims to defend himself against their claims

You are correct. It's called the meaty dick of the federal government...which froze his accounts. They don't play that shite.
