You want some smelly hobos leaving dirty needles and spent semen on school buses?

That’s quite the visual, but pretty far from the truth. Believe it or not people take the bus to work, school or shopping because they don’t have access or ability to get there otherwise.

The bus system is not run right, it’s not efficient and like others have said a huge drain on economy.

It’s not a place where “hobos” shoot up and sleep. They do that in public restrooms, behind buildings and near wherever they buy their drugs.

Now if you said the New York subway has hobos sleeping in the cars I will agree with you. Especially in the winter.

And it's probably the same people day in and day out. It would be cheaper to just buy these people their own cars.
From people I've seen using public transit buses, passengers would be better served to walk some of those pounds off.

CATS budget for this year is almost $49 million.

So CATS is spending $49 million to give rides to 1.4 million riders which equates to $35 a rider.

What a fricking scam

With that budget you could just give the poor that need rides to work Uber or Lyft credits and eliminate the program entirely. If the busses are essentially empty it would help the flow of traffic also.

They don’t move many people. It’s only the working poor who use their services. We’d be a lot better off with just having a ride pick program with small vans.

These people need to watch themselves.

BR should pay drivers the going rate. Pay what NO pays.

Get the money from a complete overhaul.

Massage bus routes. We all see these big empty busses riding around without passengers of one or two passengers. Make the necessary cuts.

Buy small busses for a lot of routes. Why a big bus when you only have five riders. Save on equipment and gas.

The present system is like one big game. You draw up tgese nice looking maps of buses moving all over EBR, but you aren’t having all those customers.

Pay your people, but cut the enormous fat.

I am not a Maths genius but we would have to be saving money if we just got the bus riders an Uber, but then, business would expand because you could get where you are going on time- maybe time to farm out like a waste disposal company

I should be an undercover agitator and convince more of them to strike - for as long as possible.
