Cause cases don't matter. A new strain of a respitory virus will spread cases will go up. It needs to spread. Hospitalizations and deaths matter.

Fully vaccinated deaths are on the rise
I would expect that. Average age of vaccinated patients is 74 compared to 54 for unvaxxed. However, 91% of those hospitalized are still unvaxxed and that is holding steady

Louisiana's 7 day average cases has gone up 1,000 in the last week since you said it was starting to drop.

Im not trying to be mean, but you dont understand how this works

The average continues to rise until RT is 1 or below. These last few weeks, Rt was above 1, so cases rose, but the rate of increase kept getting smaller as the Rt dropped. When Rt get below 1, that is when the volume of cases actually starts declining, which is what we are actually seeing in Nola, Br, and the northshore now

He said Rt was starting to drop. Any positive Rt would lead to increased cases. It’s just now that Rt has gotten to below 1.

I hope it does go down, but its not just Louisiana, in the US we went from 60,000 average cases a day to 160,000 cases a day in the last month. Its skyrocketing most places currently.

It should be simple, here is an example

Week 1- 30% increase in cases- Rt 1.3

Week 2- 40 % increase in cases from previous week-Rt 1.5

Week 3-44% increase in cases from previous week-Rt1.7

Week4- 35% Inrease in cases from previous week-Rt1.4

(even though case percentage increased, Rt went down and the rate of increase slowed)

Week5- 20% increase in cases-Rt 1.2

Week 6- not rate increase in cases-Rt 1

Week 7- 10% reduction in rate of new cases- Rt .9

Good. Let’s get this shite out of the way so we can reach some semblance of herd immunity and get back to normal.

We could already be at herd immunity if people had gotten vaccinated, that was the point of the vaccine.

How many people are catching Covid with the vaccine? I’m not talking about hospitalizations as I think it’s pretty clear the vaccine has been pretty successful in reducing that

If you wait for everyone to get covid for herd immunity thats gonna take no telling how many years, only about 20% of Americans have had covid. No telling what other strains we would be dealing with by then.

They test them all in the ER

Thanks ... so it's possible that there are "some" there NOT for covid reasons who happen to test positive.

Are there any instances where people are direct admits from say an MD office OR does EVERYONE go through the ER? I'm guess if by chance YES, then they're tested as well? (All we've ever had in our immediate family was outpatient day surgeries so I have no clue).

vaccinated people are definitely catching it, but in an area where 80% of people are vaccinated its a lot less chance for a vaccinated person to catch it than somewhere like Louisiana or Alabama where only about 40% are.

Its gonna vary a lot due to how many are vaccinated/unvaccinated in that area.

If you have the vaccine and get sick you are about 90 to 95% less likely to have to go to the hospital with it.
