lots of hotels and resturants have balconies that they rent out. I have been to events at both the royal sonesta and the Crowne Plaza that were held on balconies. The sonesta faces burbon. The crowne Plaza has balconies facing both burbon and canal, but the stretch of burbon that runs beside the crowne plaza is completely fricked up by construction.
Fwiw, I think the crowne will give you serious good rates right now because of the condition of burbon, if that is acceptable.
