Basically a 17 year old kid was sexting with a 16 year old kid, he's now charged with producing child pornography and possession of child pornography.

This is insane to me, did the kid do the right thing? No, but if he actually had sex with her he would have been way better off.

The boy's mother, Chasity Washington, claimed racism in her son's case, which the sheriff's office adamantly denies.

It's not a story until someone cries racism.

She was not only charged as well. She was charged first.

Well if being 17-18 in high school and doing sexual stuff with freshmen and sophomores makes you a criminal, I definitely should have been charged

So your issue is with the state legislators who wrote the law not the sheriff

So you want the Sheriff to decide what laws he wants to enforce and disregard those he doesn't? confused:

I'll ask the same question again. Do you want law enforcement to pick and choose what laws they want to enforce?

This is a complete bullshite thing to say. Total cop logic.

Reality is that cops use discretion to selectively enforce laws on a regular basis.

Hell yes I want them to selectively enforce, it happens on a daily basis, are you just dumb?

Ironically, if that girl had their phone number, she could get them arrested for the same charges he is getting. Simply receiving a nude text is a child pornography charge.

No, but the DA can.

ETA: And should.
