Anyone ever played Cajun Bourre?

My father is a quiet, reserved man. I have seen him go insane on someone playing this game.

I used to love a 2-5 bourre game in college during Monday Night Football. We would set a match pot limit to $5 per boo. The dealer paid a dollar to deal and saw 6 cards choosing which one to flip for the trick, then playing with his best 5.

The running commentary is the best part. "A split and a rip!"

I never realized outside of Southern Louisiana that people arent really diehard card players until I moved. Do people play cards in yankee Louisiana like they do NOLA area?
Nope. People in Yankee Louisiana, the part of Louisiana that actually fought the Yankees, never play cards and have never played Bourre. Nobody else in the world plays cards. Only retard inbred Canadian convicts play cards.

We used to have suppers every Tuesday night for years and it was a religion. Depending on who was at the supper determined what match the pot up to would be. We'd have match the pot up to $20 or just straight up match the pot. At a tailgate for ole miss in 2006, we were righting $1,000+ I owe you's for match the pot. Good times.

Boray and spades are the only card games I ever play.
If you plan on winning, don't play boray with old ladies and don't play spades with black people.

We play dealer pays everyone's ante. It's all the same in the end. Just easier.
And that saying "2 never boo" is complete bullshite

We play every night at the camp. 20$ buy in. Boo Mathew the pot. You win 100$ or be pulling another 20$ out realm quick. We play clubs everyone has to play just to make it fun

We played bourre all the time. But I've seldom seen it played outside of Cenla.

Growing up my Dad would have a weekly Monday night Bourre' game at our house in the outdoor kitchen. Once I was old enough (prlly about 8-9) I was allowed to watch over his shoulder and I was also the official beer fetcher and food server for everyone that was sitting at the table. I love some bourre' and still play a couple times a month.

bullshite on both of your points. Played cards with rednecks often. Several of my ancestors fought the Yankees. Perhaps you should read "Acadians in Grey". The Cajun 18th La led by Gen Mouton led the attack at Mansfield.
