Bone Spurs on my spine, any help/advice would be appreciated

My neck and back have been very sore lately. Doc took x-rays and it shows bone spurs on my spine. I have a follow up appt with him this Wednesday. Anyone ever dealt with something like this? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pretty scared right now.
I'm 39 years old.

Tweet at POTUS. He has some experience in this.

Bone spurs also known as osteophytes are a sign of osteoarthritis. Ultimately, osteoarthritis can lead to neurologic symptoms if they impinge on the nearby nerves. The osteoarthritis itself can also be inflamed and be a source of pain. Treatment options will vary depending on the exact cause of your pain. Good luck.

Is surgery something that I'll eventually need to do?

Getting old.
If it's really that bad, you will look at PT and chiro maybe. Maybe even some injections for pain.
He will probably set you up with MRI to check discs and see if any touching a nerve

I have bone spurs in my neck. I’ve had to go to physical therapy twice in 10 years. Each time it was a 3 month intensive process to relieve the pressure on the nerves. Well worth doing that as opposed to getting operated on. Don’t let some doctor talk you into surgery before you exhaust all other options. They don’t make money referring you to a PT.

Agreed...are you often in pain? Or does the pain completely go away?

Are you sure it isn't fibromyalgia?

Do a spinal fusion top to bottom.

I have a friend who had to have bone spurs removed from her neck. The relief she got sure made the surgery worthwhile for her.

Symptoms?
Take X-rays of 1000 asymptomatic patients and I would guess about half would have some sort of findings. Make it an MRI and I bet over half would have some sort of bulging disks or something.
I wouldn’t worry about it unless you had radiation of pain or numbness down the arm/leg, or more importantly any weakness or bowel/bladder incontinence.
