I've seen the reports, but can't recall numbers. They did tout that it was really high performing on all the stress tests

Haha, yeah among other applications. The tough part of their job is figuring out how to bring the inventions to market. They own a ton of patents that they just can't figure out how to apply the tech to products.

It's not lighter than air: Boeing says it's created the lightest metal ever, a microlattice material which it describes as 99.99% air.

you can make transapent aluminum...

take a lighter to aluminum foil and scorch it a bit, it becomes transparent.

It is not lighter than air. It is 1.76 times the density of air at 25 °C. LINK However, it is 100 times lighter than Styrofoam.

Stuff like that fascinates me. Literally the building blocks of future technology.

Would love to see this in use for a space elevator years down the line.
