NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a case where a body was found on an on-ramp in New Orleans East. According to NOPD, a motorist called 911 Wednesday night to report that a piece of rolled up carpet on the side of Michoud had flies on it and was exuding a foul odor. When officers arrived, they found a decomposed male. The Hancock County Sheriff's Department told WLOX News that they are working to determine if the body is Philip Whitaker, a man reported missing from their county. Whitaker, 54, was last seen in Harrison County on Nov. 8. The sheriff’s department asked for help finding Whitaker on Tuesday.

Gross! I'm floored by the level of crime in NOLA these days. Just angers every fiber of my being.

The whole area around Michoud is a third world area. It's a wonder NASA has not pulled out of that area
