It sounds like bs. This other girl was just identified today. How the hell would anyone know she was in City Park if police were only recently able to discern her identity? Sounds like an urban legend being passed around.

That women are being abducted from City Park then raped, murdered, and dismembered. And that NOPD is trying to keep it quiet to avoid panic. I really hope it's bs.

It certainly sounds like BS.
What type of "panic" would NOPD be hoping to avoid? If there actually was someone chopping up women, what do you think would cause a more serious problem for NOPD:
1) some type of panic in the city, or
2) the mountain of shite that they'd get when the truth inevitably got out and people found out they didn't inform the public about a serial killer in their midst because they wanted to avoid a "panic"?

Yea if there were more bodies turning up, I wouldn't discard that theory. But so far there have been 2 instances to my knowledge. I think I read that the first girl, the one found out East, was last seen somewhere on Earhart looking for a ride home.
