Depends on where you live…. If you live on the river or bay on south Mississippi coast you would use both nearly every day.

I use my boats plenty and the stress relief is priceless, so that’s a no.

My pool is the river. Clarity is a little off but the PH is usually perfect, so that’s a no

When the power goes out and absolutely nothing changes whether I’m home or not is kinda awesome, so that’s a no

What else you got?

Or is it a whole home generator?
That shite ain't a waste. When power goes out in the summer that first time, the generator paid for itself.

Boat or Pool

Depends on the person. Some use their boats every weekend but never get in the pool. Others practically live in their pools and the boat collects dust.

All three are a waste unless the pool is above ground. I can count on my fingers the number of times I’ve actually enjoyed my deep end and I grew out of caring about what my pool looks like by the time I was 35. I’d have a cheap plastic pool in a heartbeat if I lived in a place where that was appropriate.

You sound trashy. I love my pool and use it every chance I get with my wife and kids.

All the pools here in Florida are only 5 foot at the deep end. At first, I did not think I would like that but now I understand it.

Personally, I would not live in South Florida without a swimming pool. I love being able to get in there three or four days a week and the hot tub at night. And frick all of y’all if you think I’m selling my boat. Not gonna happen unless I go broke so my answer is neither is a waste of money.

I use mine at least twice per week year round if you include the attached spa. I wouldn’t enjoy an “ugly” plastic pool any less though. I’d just have more money.

I get that side of the argument. I really do... But back in may where I live there was something that caused several transformers to blow and the power in my area was down for 12 hours then a few weeks later, they had to do something to finish up whatever so they shut down power from 12:01AM - 6AM (it actually came back on around 4). In the moment you are thankful to have it.

As for as the title.. What is a bigger waste, I think it all depends on how much they get used. When I was younger I use to always go with my friends when they went wake board. One of them had started competing on amateur circuits. He had a boat and we went a lot. I would go 2 or 3 times a week, they would go 5 or 6 times a week. He tore tore his ACL and a few weeks after he came back from that injury he injured his knee. At the time he had just got married, in the process of having kids so he had to put the whole wakeboarding thing on the backburner. For three years he didn't use his boat then sold it. So when he was using it all the time it wasn't a waste of money.

Instead of holding on to it for 3 years, if he would have sold it earlier he would have been able to sell it for more. Its a relative question.

Pool with an evaporative pool cooler. It will add around 4k to the cost but is efficient and cheap to operate. Your pool will never feel like its warm in summertime.
