and same engine, payload, interior/exterior measurements, etc because it's the same manufacturer.
there ain't no one who test drove a GS 350 and then a Toyota Avalon could tell a difference. But if it makes you feel better about yourself driving the Lexus, the Toyota Motor Corp. appreciates your purchase.

Really looked hard at the audi s4, nice car and pretty basic sleek look to it.
i think its the best in it's class (mid-range luxury sport sedan).
OP needs to clarify what class/price range is he asking about. big difference between entry level compact luxury (a3, cla250, bmw 2 series, etc) and full size flagship model (s class, 7 series, LS, etc).
Once upon a time MB and BMW were clearly the king of the hill, but i really think Audi has come on strong the past 10 years or so and is a great blend of both brands.

Lexus is a glorified Toyota. No thanks.

That's because Audi's S line is just a performance edition of their base models. You need to look at Audi RS models to really compare with BMW M. The S models used to be comparable to M way back when, but not anymore.
correct. back when the m3 was just an inline 6, it was a direct competitor to the S4.
then MB came out with the c63, and bmw put a v8 in the m3 to compet;, those 2 cars were then in a class of their own, while Audi's S4 (and S5) remained as-is and essentially were the only ones in their class.
fast forward many years and MB came out with the amg-lite 43 series, and bmw now has the 340/440 to compete with the audi s4/s5.
the other poster was 100% accurate that the s5 is more of a touring car.

quote:once again my only issue with Audi is the steering is a bit light and that is throughout the whole line from A3/4 to the R8. It's very precise but feels a bit over boosted I guess. Didn't stop me from buying 2 of them though. The rest of the car makes up for it, particularly the interior. The new virtual cockpits are tits.

i just went with the new, redesigned 2018 sq5 over an s6 (not yet redesigned) due to the s6's dated interior.
i was coming from a 2015 S5, and i was getting very bored of the previous generations interior. Would have LOVED an S6, but just didnt think i could live with a similar interior any longer. Also, with having a 2 year old, the SQ5's rear cargo area is a bit more practical than a standard sedan trunk.
