Camry or Accord

She’s going to college not to NASCAR Race School.

Stop trying so hard, simply because you CAN afford something doesn’t mean you NEED to buy it.

Especially for kids.

I can work on anything but heard BMW’s were hard to maintain and work on. Parts are expensive, etc. appreciate info. Y’all helped me say no. We move on.

They’re reliable but in my opinion, you buy these cars with a warranty and sell (or get an extended warranty) when the factory one expires. Dont want to chance a real bill.

Like others have said, way too much car for pretty much anyone. Unreal performance. Glad you said no

I have 750 and had my battery changed a few weeks ago. $1100.

Had spark plugs and coil overs changed. $200 each cylinder

Oil changes are $110.

But that thing hauls arse and looks damn good doing it.

As a side note she will become an a-hole. It’s not her fault, it’s the cars fault. Very similar to Christine.

I’ve had a couple of M3s over the years.

A lot depends on what year you’re looking at, but they all have significant issues and take a shite ton of expensive maintenance.

For example E46 and E90/92 have well known rod bearing issues. Had that happen to one of mine, very common. Thankfully they can be replaced from under the engine without pulling it out, but it will easily cost $5 grand or so. It’s actually part of the service schedule to change out the rod bearings every 60,000 miles. The E36 as they’ve aged have significant issues with strut towers cracking and points in the rear where the suspension connects to the frame cracking. You can get them welded, but again expensive and time consuming. God forbid if you end up with a cooling system issue on any of them. BMW uses a wild pressurized cooling system that is an insane headache that takes specialized tools.

On top of it all, regardless of year it’ll be waaaay to much power for a 17 year old to manage. She’ll definitely wreck it.
