No problem getting in and out today. Like zero line at 9am arriving and we left before the blue angels were totally done. (We’d seen plenty at that point) and no bus wait. Super efficient and great show. A few older planes couldn’t fly due to steady strong winds, but it was still a nice full show.

There wasn’t even a wait at the portapotties

The Blues had mechanical issues again. Just like the last time in New Orleans. #1 switched to #3 and #3 switched to #7 then they resumed the show.

Anyone get burnt by the jet truck?

We left before that. In fact I saw #7 parked well beyond the flight line on the bus back to the parking lot. I was talking to two old codgers and they told me about the issues last time in NO. Can’t believe it happened again

The show narrator definitely seemed miffed about him lighting up right in front of them. I saw everyone on the stand running. Said his jacket was singed. Spoke with the engineer for the jet truck as well - pretty cool old guy.

In the morning when the F-15s taxiied out and the wind was blowing towards the grandstands you could feel the immense heat coming off those engines. Was awesome

I got burnt from the 3 hours of sun or the wind, haven't figured it out yet. Lol.

We had a blast, I had to ask the gate guard if we had the right weekend. I remember leaving at the same time and missing the start of the show 2 years ago.

Last time after that happened we were getting autographs with my son and I could just tell they all looked bummed out about it.
These pilots are perfectionists and while the public doesn’t really notice you could just sense they were so pissed at it.
Navy needs to get them at least some Block 2 super hornets lol

Went to the Shreveport airshow in 20 or 21? Maybe? And they allowed vehicles to park where the crowd usually stands. It was the best setup for watching. Some folks had tents set up. Had your ice chest. A lot of folks still moved to the ropes to watch the acts they wanted to see. Thunderbirds and F-22 and others...

Exactly. I spent some time there. We were a proper military back then

A sad day in aviation history.
March 10th 2006; overcast as last two F-14s Tomcat squadrons, VF-31 Tomcatters and VF-213 Black Lions completed final F-14 deployment and conducted their very last fly-in at NAS Oceana, marking end of 30 years of Tomcats

Buddy if mine is retiring soon. He is at the show with an F18. Not sure if he is flying it or not. He was the lead pilot for the flyover before the army game

Is he out of dfw? If so, his plane was parked by the 2 A10s.

Not at Ellington in Houston. Start the walk to the car in the middle of the last act. They're flying over you, even if you're on the way to the car.
