My mom and dad did something similar when I was a kid in the 70s. Booked Daytona during bike week. Talk about being out of place...a young suburban family surrounded by hells angels and the like...nothing happened of course because it seldom does and it is just as likely to happen in Daytona on a Wednesday in November. Life is fraught with danger...

Not tipping for service because you are a cheap POS is disrespectful. Our son was going to LSU and waiting tables at the Texas Roadhouse. After Katrina evacuees were eating out ordering entrees and alcohol but not tipping. After a month of this he walked.

Was it this past weekend 7, 8, and 9th, or this coming weekend 14, 15, and 16th?
If it was this past weekend, no one was there. The casinos were empty and machines were tight.
Leaving for Vegas this coming Saturday (15th) till next Wednesday. So, I picked a good weekend to skip the coast.

No, it’s not. What happened in Miami is more like it. 2 of the last 3 years the had to set curfews and had multiple shootings. Look at some of those videos and then look at Daytona and St. Augustine videos during Spring Break and tell me they are similar.

You see the hotels on the coast? They are some jacked up roach motels. They going for $500 a night. Best thing to do is if you have vacation days take them and get out of town. Chargers burnout and donuts incoming. My peoples.

Has there ever been a town that had a long term relationship with spring break crowds? Not that I am aware of...everywhere that becomes the in spot lasts a few years, the town promotes it for a few years, gets fed up with it and makes the revelers as uncomfotable as possible....white, black, green or gold it happens everywhere...
