Black dot on the hand lets professionals know you're a domestic violence survivo

I saw this on my FB today. If you are a medical professional and see someone in the course of your practice that has a black dot on the palm of their hand it is to make you aware that they are a really vunerable domestic abuse survivor and that they need your help but can't ask, because their abuser is watching.
Doesn't posting this on facebook give a heads up to the abusers though? Seems counterintuitive to me.
I'm all for ridding the planet of domestic abuse but shouldn't this be done on the back channels? I'm sure the abusers have FB to stalk their victims.

this explains so much!
see i had a black pen explode in my hand this morning leaving a black dot that could not be removed. next thing i know i'm buying extra small condoms at the local cvs and a cop slams me on the ground.

If my doctor saw a black dot on my hand, he'd probably ask me why I hadn't bathed that day 
This is dumb, and I cant help but think that some poor soul might actually use this as a cry for help instead of Ya know, just telling someone.
If you're at the point where you are ready to tell the doctor, you can probably tell people who can do something about it too.
