How dow I get the little bastards from trying to build nests on my ceiling fans on my patio? Is there something I can spray to keep them away? Moth balls. They burnt out one of my ceiling fans a couple years ago

Doves like to nest on top of my garage door opener, back of garage is open to patio.
I put a small stuffed toy cat up there zip tied it to a support and it has kept it bird free for years.

Can ALWAYS spray lead. I keep a .22cal pellet rifle handy for just this reason. They love nesting on my outdoor speakers, crap all over back patio…

I have a group of chimney swifts that build a mud nest under my front porch every year. They and their hatchlings shite everywhere.

Last year in the spring, I waited until they finished building the nest then I destroyed it with a broom handle. They rebuilt it in the same spot within two days, and I destroyed it again. Within 24 hours, they had rebuilt it again in the same place. I tipped my hat and said, “Nature finds a way.”

My dad used to put rubber snakes in his fig tree to keep the birds away. It worked.

Any kind of snake. Go to a novelty shop and get a rubber snake and hang/coil it around the fan ABOVE the motor housing/blades.
