People get upset over the damnist shite.

He paid for it out of his own pockets.

If a liberal (or anyone else for that matter) is offended by, then don't fricking look at it and get over it.

And you think this is a new trend in young people? This was true of the boomers, my generation, and now millennials. Young adults tend to be non-religious. This has been the case for decades. But what you are failing to realize is that as these people grow older, the percentage of them that do identify as Christian tends to go up. If it didn't this country would not be anywhere close to 77% Christian as it is today. In short, the rumors of Christianity's immanent demise are grossly overstated

So then why, according to gallop, are less people attending church, less people identifying, etc, etc, etc

no he didn't

quote:

money used to build Ark Encounter came from donations of almost $30 million, plus $62 million in high-risk, unrated municipal bonds backed by the project’s future revenues. quote: So while tax dollars might not actually have been used to build the ark, a boatload that would otherwise go back into the community will instead be used to pay off Ark Encounter’s debt.

This has very little to do with being a liberal or conservative. The fact is that he's teaching adolescent children grossly wrong parts of history. Any person who openly tells people that dinosaurs and humans walked the earth together deserves to have negative spotlight put on them.

Not believing in the Noah's Ark story is not "progressive" or "liberal".

Sure, but using your fame as a children's celebrity to humiliate and shame well-intentioned and ultimately benign people who do believe in it is a pretty brown-shirt move.

1. Did not read the whole tread

2. The ark had holding cages for dinosaurs... that's freaking awesome!!

3. Maybe someone there could answer these simple questions... Was this biblical flood freshwater or saltwater? How did the marine or aquatic animals/plants survive the sudden changes in osmotic pressure?

4. The ark simply cannot whole every species of animals and terrestrial plants that exist or existed in the world... thus the discovery of a new species is because of.... what? Evolution from the animals in the ark? Or did God just created those species on the spot?

This. I used to enjoy his show when I was young. Now I just dismiss him as just another annoying political voice.

Well looks like he won't be getting much revenue by way of public schools in the state (a big revenue builder for museums and parks like this open during the school year):

quote:

A secular foundation has contacted hundreds of public schools in Kentucky to warn them against taking field trips to the Ark Encounter, the new amusement park featuring a 500-foot replica of Noah’s Ark and a belief that the world is only 6,000 years old.

Officials with the Freedom From Religion Foundation say field trips would expose children to religious proselytizing that would violate the constitutional separation between church and state.

In reply, Kentucky Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt sent a message to school districts late Monday saying that neither outside groups nor the Kentucky Department of Education should dictate field trip selection. But, he wrote, “it is important to remind educators that at all times and under all circumstances, field trips should be a direct extension of classroom learning. As a result, all off-site trips should be directly related to the school curriculum and should seek to maximize student learning by enhancing the classroom experience.”

So trying to tell people that they are wrong about something is Nazism now? This is why islamic extremism will never die. We can't even have a conversation about what is logical or real when it comes to religion.

I agree with that.

I still don't have any problem with the exhibit being there though.

Anyone that has the hubris to tell me what happened over 13 billion years ago with a straight face needs to have their nuts kicked.
