Ellick has manageable traffic, a decent public school system, and a nice little airport that connects you with anywhere you want to go. It has more going for it than most Louisiana cities. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets on the OT.

Couldn’t agree more. Born and raised there and most of my family is in Alexandria. As long as you can afford to stay on the good side of MacArthur it’s a great place to raise a family

It has its fair share of trash and drama but not as bad as the bigger cities in the state. I will be glad when a certain group isn't running things. It could be much better without the interference from them.

It is. I was born n' raised in Alex/Pville and it's far from what OT makes it out to be. The local food scene is doing well, the mayor is good, and if you have money and friends there's nothing to complain about.
That said, my friends and I moved away 20 years ago because the opportunities are limited to health care careers or some support of that, but I visit my Dad often and he's happy living there.
