Which could have been fixed by a turning signal light.

Exactly. They would've had to change the E Boyd lights to go one lane at a time, but this probably would've cleared traffic much better than what it was and the new setup. Lots of people are going to probably try to cut through the Mellow Lot.

One just happened. Light is already changed, went to sonic, and watched someone run into the light pole at that intersection.

I shudder to think of how horrendous this is going to be during the school year. Hopefully I move before then

I have to live in this godforsaken place until December. I think I'm going to become a cyclist. Ride the crosswalks/sidewalks/lots all the way to CEBA.

Good luck not getting hit.

I'm here until our condo sells. Then I'm off to a different part of BR

Has it really only been up today?
I wonder if that guy made crash #1, or if there were others before him today.

You realize now this will force EVERYONE to get onto Parker if they are in the area just to get to Burbank or Nicholson?
i'm usually quick to defend traffic solutions, but i sure hope they gave a lot more green time to west parker since they're basically forcing anyone who wants to get to nicholson to turn left from parker then right on boyd.

"what they shoulda done" is extended west parker through to nicholson, but they missed their chance b/c now it's that big mixed residential complex. the alignment looks like it's already established, but it runs right through parking stalls now.

I left for work at 8:00 this morning, and all was right in the world. Drove back through the intersection at 7:00 PM this evening, and my dreams were crushed.

So yes. Not even all of today.

He may have been the first, but he will certainly not be the last.

I agree. I believe it actually used to run straight through and there was talk about reviving that portion of the road.

But that's too logical for the DOTD.

Yep. That would've made too much sense

Now that there isn't a designated time for pedestrians to cross the road, I think we will see more drunk college students getting hit walking home from Bogies and even Tigerland if they are set in their ways.

What they really need to do if they are going to keep this configuration is to make E Boyd a one way in opposite directions from Burbank. Running OW to Highland and OW to Nicholson. Then you force the traffic to those roads that you wanted to and keep the flow moving on Burbank.

No. And it actually makes sense but the flashing yellow right now is just dumb.

Parker is being reconnected to Nicholson. The construction is already underway.

Made the move from Brightside to Inniswold last year. Much rather this side of town.
