The question is why is it bothering you, that you gotta make a thread about it?

Don't remember him saying anything about it bothering him, per se. It was obvious, however, that he, like a lot of others here, feel it's over-the-top ridiculous that such a large percentage of commercials pander to such a small percentage of the population. Hope that helps.

I’m part of the 13% and I honestly never notice the ethnicity of people in commercials.

That's an interesting statement. Because I've seen some statistics in this thread that are being used to justify the increase of bi-racial commercials due to the increase in said couples in the country. So either marketing departments are stupid and/or polito-socially motivated or you're in the minority (not just a minority). Based on the money that goes into marketing, I'm guessing it's the latter. And racially-motivated casting at the level we see it now is undeniably superfluous.

And? The adage any press is good press is bs. The reminder on this, or any, board that abc company is really “woke” only further distances consumers. Dominion can’t shop...yet...so running off consumers that can, isn’t bright.

I see more than ever before and at the same time, in real life, it’s very uncommon.

It’s a clear attempt by media to indoctrinate

So by your own estimation either the agenda (making money) is racially based

Huh? That’s like saying it’s unhealthy to have women (or men) in commercials bc that would be “gender based.”

No, I'm saying that to obviously and inequitably target combinations of races in lieu of same races (of any color) is so contrary to the actual racial makeup of couples in society as to be almost laughable. The incredulity of it all is what strikes a chord with people.

It’s pandering to the woke crowd so the companies can point to it and say they’re doing something. I just shake my head and ignore it.

What I found interesting was the increase in redheads in commercials the last few years. Never understood it, certainly didn’t complain.

If you are the type of person that wants to purchase a specific car but decides not to because they have an interracial couple in a commercial, the company probably doesn’t care about your business. They will be fine.
