What you want is a venue that will outlast the marriage.

If you go for a special restaurant, immodest McMansion, etc. there is a good chance that any commercial places won't last more than a decade or two.

go to a place like Gatlinburg for the mountains and fresh running streams and (thanks to the National Park) you can count on having that special place to visit for all your annivaersaries.

There ain’t no boutique wedding venues here my man, and for damn good reasons. But I’ll rent you my camp I’ve got on Airbnb and I’ll officiate for free.

Mobile is simply amazing. There are 20 new cash advance, laundromats and friend chicken restaurants opening up just in the beautiful downtown area! It’s a very romantic destination with the canopy trees over hanging the streets and Tillman corner is a very special place. It’s just a very beautiful part of the country

Don't leave out Jimmy Lowe's Fruit Stand in Theodore.

Don’t understand why people like Gatlinburg so much. Whats the allure? Go cart racing?

It's not Gatlinburg, it's what surrounds Gatlinburg. If you've never seen the rhododendron in bloom, if you've never sat by a fast running stream with your bare feet in what feels like ice cold water, if you've never looked up through trees and just watched the shade play different images on the lichen covered stones, if you have wondered what peace and quiet feel like, you owe yourself a day or two winding down in Townsend, Gatlinburg or even over at Fontana.

If you love being surrounded by people who are strangers to you, if the sounds of the cities make you comfortable, if you've never seen the Milky Way (the one that's not a candy bar), you wouldn't 'get' the mountains.

Destination weddings are money suckers for everybody involved.

Why? If you're just involved and not in it it gives you an excuse to take a vacation
