I know some people that ride General Grabbers and love them. It’s a good looking tire at least. Made in America from what I understand.

Those look like the factory silver aluminum rims. How did you get them black like that? plastidip?

Yes, it’s plastidip. It’s a few years old and it’s about time to do it again. It’s held up remarkably well. I used it to “blackout” all of the emblems and other stuff.

I also designed the rack that’s on it.

Yeah, General is an American manufacturer, whose parent company is Continental AG (German).

Oh yeah. I remember that thread. Haven’t pulled the trigger on your rail system just yet but I have the link saved for later.

I’m in the market as well with a 4R

I had K02s on my LR3, but I’ve decided I don’t need that beefy of a tire. It’s heavy.

Falken Wildpeak AT3s, are going to be my choice. Supposed to have good wet traction, and will be fine for any off roading I do here. Plus they are much less expensive.

I've never had one of their off-road tires, but back in my younger days Falken made a hell of a high-performance/racing tire.

Glad to hear she can easily pull out of the gravel lot at the soccer fields without needing 4 wheel drive.

I know they put the Nitto terra grapplers on the TRD Pros’s. Good looking setup, and They handle good.

I’ve got 20s and going back with stock Yokohama G96. Expensive as hell, but no complaints and got 90k out of them. Any reason not to go back with them, other than $250/tire?

get a set of uniroyals for it, they are made by michelin and same quality, they have great wet traction and run smooth and quiet on the road getting great gas mileage plus they arent very expensive. i put a set on my 06 4runner 2wd and was very glad i did. the wranglers that were on it road like shite and were noisy with not so great wet traction

i think they were right at $120 each, i was all in on a full set at $625 mounted and balanced

I don’t think OP even said if he needed a tire with any off-road ability. But assume so, since he specified 4x4. Maybe not tho.

There’s more threads than you’d could possibly read through if you google “4Runner and ____ tire vs_____tire. “
Ive come to the realization that I have no need for an LT tire. I don’t rock crawl, more gravel/Forest service/ type roads and I don’t tow or have a bunch of heavy “overland” shite bolted to my truck. 99% of my time is on pavement. So a passenger AT tire will be fine, with a little more sidewall and tread than a pure highway tire.

I ordered a rack like that from a company in North Carolina. I went through an automatic carwash and the brush flaps from the wash got caught in an angled slot on the rack. Ripped the crossbar out and flared out the track on the roof rail
