My arlos work like a charm. Motion detection is spot on. Maybe the angle you have them set at? I have three of the outside placed right under the soffit aiming down. I love them.

I've read that the battery life isn't too good on them.

It was at a 30 degree angle to my driveway. Another bad thing about them is that there is a 3-5 second lag between seeing motion and recording. Both of those problems are very well known

Arlo are legit. Good price. Great quality product. Easy as hell to set up.
