Oh come on, St. George is a small independent metro still in the same parish, state and country as Baton Rouge, not a whole fricking separate country. Plus Baton Rouge leadership is still fighting in legal ways, not like they said "Ok, just head on out."

Outside of China the biggest threat to this country is our own government and the fascist left and here we have 7 pages of US citizens praising how we ended up here.

That's kind of my point.

Baton Rouge is fighting tooth and nail to prevent the people of the proposed area of St George from determining their own destiny. All cities are carved out of unincorporated areas initially or broken off from larger cities. All states are carved out of Wilderness territories. Some states split like Virginia and West Virginia.

Most people would agree that Baton Rouge is in the wrong when it comes to the Saint George situation. What exactly is the argument for Baton Rouge to prevent the people from St George, in a majority Democratic vote, from forming their own municipality? The only possible argument anyone can make its from purely selfish reasons. I feel the same way for any region that wants to break away from another country. It's how we ended up with all the different countries we have here on this planet in the first place.

I adhere pretty strongly to the non-aggression principle. If somebody or some groups of somebodies no longer wants to be part of a larger group, that's their choice. If you truly believe in Freedom, it's not the right of the rest of those in the group to force the others to remain. regardless of the reasons for leaving.

If it were not for Lincoln, there might have never been WW I and WW II.

Happy Presidents Day

The holiday is "Washington's Birthday" both federal and state (Louisiana).
