Sherburne Range in Krotz Springs.. free, but probably not much closer than Ponchy.

I used to go to the Ascension Parish Sherrif Range. I believe it’s on the road that goes to Lamar Dixon but not 100%. Not sure if they still let the public go shoot there. I know it was only certain days of the week when I used to go. You can call them and find out.
Their number is (225) 621-8365. Also they have a Facebook page listed as Ascension Parish Sheriff's Range
