If "something serious" happens to your eyes it would be covered by your medical insurance. Vision insurance is not really "insurance". Most people that pay for "vision insurance" do not get near the money back that they put in

I phrased poorly. What I meant by something serious would be cataract surgery or the like. Perhaps my medical insurance covers that. I would have to look actually. Thanks for bringing it up.

Nearly everything other than routine exam, contacts, and glasses falls under medical insurance
