Stop 6 has some great diversity, and should be affordable.

I'm seeing a lot of Keller responses. We're trying to keep it under $325k, because the kids will be in private school. It sucks that we could easily afford more if not for that.

That would be ideal. But I'm not big enough of an OT Baller to live in Frisco. It's a nice area though.

Gotcha...

Also look at The Colony

If you listen to the folks telling you to live in Keller, just make sure you don't have to commute to Fort Worth for work for at least 2-3 years (if that stretch of 35 is done on time). It will take you an hour to get home from work trying to go North on 35 from the downtown area.

Your price range puts you in benbrook, white settlement, saginaw type areas and those will be DR Horton (not bad at all, but no character and no yard) cookie cutter subdivision houses. That's if you are looking for immediate surrounding Fort Worth suburbs. Outside of that, Burleson, Mansfield, Colleyville, Keller, Aledo become options.

It may be worth looking in the hospital district. Lots of gentrification going on between Baylor and JPS. It would be an older home that probably needs some updates, but it will increase in value and being within walking distance from that part of Magnolia St. would be awesome.

Fort Worth itself is weird in that there isn't any one area with a bunch of nice houses (near Colonial and TCU is probably the biggest/most consistent?), there are small pockets of very nice houses scattered throughout the city. Because of this the public schools aren't great anywhere in town. Folks with money in town send their kids to trinity valley, country day, etc.

Unless you are living in Fort Worth or certain parts of Dallas, why are you sending your kid to private school in DFW?

Daughter and her family live in Keller...Is a nice area. They previously lived off Blue Mound. Houses don't sit long, if at all

My brother and his family live in the Keller area. They really like it, but they mentioned how quick the houses sell in Fort Worth right now. You may want to just find a builder that you like and go from there.

I lived in Meadowbrook the first 9 years of my life. When my parents moved there it was a top tier Fort Worth neighborhood. Lots of upper class whites. When we moved away it was basically the ghetto. When a drive by shooting happened in our neighborhood that is when my parents decided it was time to move

Never understood the need for private schools in the area unless you are zoned to a ghetto school which would mainly be inner city Fort Worth and Dallas

There are some excellent public schools and districts in the area. Hurst Euless Bedford is one of the top ranked districts in the country and it's not far from Fort Worth. Birdville ISD is good too. So is Saginaw ISD.

Save your money. Public schools in the area are great

Are you looking for a religious education?

If not....I think the public schools in that area are pretty solid.

I went to Eastern Hills .

Unfortunately, Woodhaven killed Meadowbrook. In the 80's, Meadowbrook was the University Park of Tarrant County. I laugh at the citizens patrol and their fancy magnet signs. . Meadowbrook is long gone.

We live in Keller and love it but it is definitely a cookie cutter suburb, you can find exactly what you are looking for up around eagle mountain lake. Easy to get to downtown FW, big, charming 50 year old lots that will be in your price range.

We have some friends who just moved to Keller. Seemed like a nice area that would offer options to contract a build on available lots or move into a neighborhood from a developer.

i agree with a lot of what people have been saying. Aledo is very good, keller, north FW.

I love the TCU area and the older homes, but you're talking $$$.

Keep on eye on something called the Walsh community currently under construction in West FW. My company is doing some bidding on some of its AV work.

going to be MASSIVE, have its own school district, 50k people, homes from 260k to 1 million plus...
