A 9 year old travel team?? Seriously?? That's F'd up and so are your parenting skills.

No shite. Spending one's childhood in the car to travel to play baseball because dad prioritizes development playing a game above all else. But hey little Braxton has the "option" and he chooses this, dad wouldn’t make him do it otherwise.

What age did yall go to Cooperstown? 12?

We had one 11 year old that played up and the rest of the team was 12.

I played on a travel ball team right when it became a thing. Made great memories with friends i still have as an adult. Things may have changed over the years so i'm not sure how it is now, but i loved it as a kid.

Get that kid into soccer...baseball isn’t going to develop his athleticism enough. GCU or SMSC.

Looking more of a week long vacation destination type trip to change it up for the boys. All the families travel well together. Would like to play in 5+ games to make the trip worth it. Anybody have any experience of good places to go? Louisville, Gatlinburg, etc? Needs to be within 1 days drive.

Team is 9yo. Very competitive but not a win every tournament they play type team. No one is under contract and no scholly offers (yet). Blast away if thats what you need to do. Thanks for the serious replies
Dont do this, it tears apart more teams than anything.

1.) someone will sleep with someone on about 50% of these things
2) Many families cant afford it, they won't say anything, but they will drop away if this becomes the norm.
3) It destroys a vacation, running back and forth to the ballpark blows.
4) It is 9yo live arm, there is not a worse sport to watch than that...dont do it to yourself.
5)Of course everyone gets along, they all do. Coming off 8U which is a blast, 9U will have a ton of role players that dont play and parents get pissed, the games move so slow that only 3 or 4 innings are played prior to time. Your kid may go a game without seeing a strike.

Just play local, enjoy it. If you are decent and a majors team, it will be hard enough to find tournaments local.
