Shane Gillis "Live in Austin" Special on YouTube is one of the best specials I've seen.

I liked it better than Beautiful Dogs. And Beautiful Dogs is very good imo.

Bad Friends podcast with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino. Theo Von’s podcast is really great

All three of those guys are better in the podcast format than their standup.

Santino is meh. Bobby Lee is just too weird and eccentric in his sense of humor for me. Theo's special was bad, but I've seen clips of more rece than shows and he is getting better. I just think all those guys are better riffing in conversation than they are at putting a good comedy set.

Haven’t seen Joe List mentioned. If you like Tosh, you’d probably like him. He does a more rapid fire delivery.

Nate Bargatze and Dusty Slay are two good “clean” comedians but their delivery is still funny as hell.
Dusty’s bit on the 5 o’clock somewhere song is pretty good.

John Crist has good, clean jokes. I like how he makes fun of different religions.

His Jehova Witness joke is great and simple.

Shane Gillis
Mark Normand
Daniel Tosh
Dave Chappelle
Jim Gaffigan
Anthony Jeselnik
John Mulaney
Andrew Schulze (his new Netflix special was great)
Jimmy Carr (saw him in New Orleans a year ago and thought he was great)

Probably missing a few others.

I forgot Jim Jefferies he's hilarious. I want to include Bill Burr too since I love his old stuff, but he hasn't been that great for a while.

I'm not super familiar with today's comics. Shane Gillis has been hilarious. I still think he is but he's starting to wear on me slightly. I think Jeselnik is an unfunny hack, personally. His bit about comedians (specifically Dave Chappelle) complaining about cancel culture really turned me against him. His standup delivery also just annoys me. Patrice Oneal refusing to learn Jeselnik's name during the Charlie Sheen roast was hilarious.

My style of comedy comes from that New York/Boston generation from the 90s through the 2000s. Even the non-mainstream guys were great.

Jay Mohr
Jim Norton
Rich Vos
Jim Florentine
Nick DiPaolo
Kevin Hart
Bill Burr
Bob Kelly
Dave Attell

Louis CK is the king of that generation, followed closely by Patrice O'Neal (RIP), and Dave Chappelle. Those are my "big 3". Some of the greatest comics of all time come from that generation. I don't think today's comedy scene comes anywhere close to back then. I'm not even speaking nostalgically. I was born in the mid 90s.

To be fair, Ron White's new stuff is some of the best he's ever done. But you can only see it live at the moment. His next special should be awesome.

Best Comedians today?

Chappelle (GOAT)
Bergatze (baby GOAT)

Bill Burr - Though he's lost a lot of steam lately IMO.

Shane Gillis
Dusty Slay - don't sleep on this guy. His current act is amazing so be on the lookout for his next special
Ron White
Ari Shaffir
Big Jay Oakerson
John Mulaney
Tony Hinchcliffe - more for his show Kill Tony, but his standup is good and getting better

Top two for me as well. Jeselnik being #1. Jeselnik doesn't give an F about anybody, nothing is off limits.

Bargatze has hit on all of his specials as well.

Shane Gillis' special was fantastic but it'd be nice if he had mor stuff other than just podcast stuff. Plenty of comedians have had one good special and then fell off. I don't think that will happen at all for Shane but I'd like to see more.

Dusty Slay is super underrated.

Sheng Wangs Netflix special is pretty brilliant.

Lavell Crawford used to kill me on the old school BET stand up specials.

Burt Krieschner (sp?) is the worst for me. Dude is just not funny.
