I expect this in my hometown, but not in Belle Chase. Dude needs to realize that although 41 warning shots may be needed in New Orleans, you only need 1 in Belle Chase for it to stand out.

I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that neither of these to retired Majors (slightly unusual, btw, but not unheard of), were NOT combat arms officers.....(Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery)....you know, the ones who actually know how to handle weapons....??
I wonder if they got their commissions from an HBCU? Now, I'm just profiling, and did not research this nor read this thread, but as a former combat arms officer I would guess these two were probably POGs.....who couldn't even get selected for CGSC, and were allowed to retire....as Majors..... just sayin....

The opposite side of the coin is (theoretically / potentially) an issue for which conservatives and your regular old middle of the road American have to pick a poison. Do they support a persons right to protect their property, or blindly get behind a sometimes over zealous law enforcement community.
For my money, 41 warning shots against someone as threatening looking as the dang cable guy is out of control and unnecessary. Furthermore, if the only charge involved here is the illegal discharge of a weapon (no beatings or dog killings, and nobody had to ride that lightning), the belle chase police dept or whoever made the arrest showed (IMO) remarkable restraint. And I’m not a back all the blue all the time kinda guy.

It's his property, he legally owns the firearm, he shot into the ground.
I fail to see the problem. When a firearm is used, it is used until the threat is no longer a threat. Right?
Now the wife, she can kick rocks. Someone who sees racism at every turn is themselves a racist.

I agree 100%, but I live in the country. Don't know if there are houses close by were they live.
