Just send in some special forces folk to kidnap the leaders (who are drug lords supplying the world with fentanyl) and Ireland, along with Greenland, could become the 51st and 52nd states. A lot of stupid in this thread, but it isn't shocking.
Remember that the primary people who smuggled and used illicit weaponry are now both politically legitimized, and the biggest advocates of such immigration into both nations on the island.
As far as the demographics of the Republic, the foreign born portion of the population has about doubled, since the 2010 census. It still remains at 22-23%, and that includes a pretty decent sized Ukranian diaspora in the wake of that war.
In terms of 83K Muslims, they represent about 1.5% of the population; it is expected to crest over 100K in the next census, but that's on the historical trend of growing by about 20K per census. This isn't new, it isn't overwhelming, and it isn't anything like say the German Turk migration issue was in the late 70s and early 80s.
