It’s tough. Especially if you seek help from The Rapist.

It would be great if changing your brain chemistry were that simple.

Good grief!! There is nothing more attention seeking than having to start a thread on how you are leaving TD because of depression? His need for attention will have him back by the weekend.

After your bloodwork, what types of meds did they put you on?

My whole goal is to get through this shite without being on prescription meds again

Good luck man

I've dealt with anxiety and depression for some time too. It's debilitating. Hoping you find some peace on your path.

In case you or anyone else feels stuck or knows someone stuck in the cycle of anxiety & depression, the way I began to find freedom is by starting to embrace the feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, rejection, etc. I realized that what caught me in the cycle was that when I felt those thoughts or emotions, I would either 1) think about it all of the time & obsess over it 2) shame myself for feeling that way, which would drag me down even deeper or 3) ignore it with unhealthy distractions which was good for a moment, but came flooding back when I came back to reality. Honestly I probably did all 3.

The change happened when those feelings or thoughts came into my head, I decided acknowledge them, accept how I was feeling, and breathe through it. I looked at it with curiosity & I would simply wonder what caused me to feel that way without judgement or expectation. And then I started to face the issues/questions I had head on. I quickly learned that while uncomfortable, wrestling with those issues/questions was the best thing I could've ever done. That pushing through painful/difficult things actually brought me through to freedom. And having a support system that helps when you face those demons helps too.

(for example, I realized I hold myself up to ridiculously high expectations in my career, with friendships, etc. So I am now working on pulling up that self-inflicted root of anxiety. Not by lowering my expectations but setting realistic expectations. On top of that, asking why my expectations are so high in the first place)

Now I have started looking at those feelings not as negative emotions but as a symptom/sign for something happening in my soul/spirit that needs to be addressed and as motivation to change and/or grow. If/when I feel those emotions, I still ask "why?" and it's allowed me to not be fearful of the next time those emotions come up. It's actually allowed me to welcome those feelings. And honestly the more of my questions/issues I face & wrestle with, the more happy and the more at peace I become.

Idk if that helps, maybe it doesn't, if not that's ok. but it's how I found a way out and I hope the same happens for you

Yet, by your response...you are giving attention. So, it didn't bother you enough to choose not to respond.

Unsolicited advise from someone who has been on medication on and off (mostly on) for close to 20 years. I understand everyone is different but this is what worked for me.

I now supplement with GABA, 5-HTP, melatonin, and magnesium.

I make sure to workout a minimum for 3 days a week; most weeks I get 5 days in, but being a single dad means there are times where that just isn’t possible.

I attempt to get an adequate amount of sleep. Proper sleep by itself can make a world of difference, especially for anxiety. I also stopped drinking at night and I now I sleep soundly through the night more often than not.

I started eliminating crap from my diet. This part isn’t for everyone, I’m sure, but it is when I saw the most drastic results. I essentially eat carnivore at this point and I’ve seen substantial improvements in overall mood, energy level throughout the day, concentration, and being able to stay calm in otherwise stressful situations.

Unfortunately they killed my thyroid so I'm on a synthroid.

Everything came back but my testosterone function. That has something to do with one of them having a mass years ago. I make some but not enough so I supplement with injections subcutaneously every three days.

So a thyroid pill and a small injection every three days is a small price I figure.

Yours might not be that, but a little bloodwork wouldn't hurt to be sure.

You have one life, you owe it to yourself.

Does that mean you give yourself a shot under your tongue? Holy hell man, I'm glad that's not me.

No. Sublingual is under the tongue in liquid.

Subcutaneously is under the skin like a 32 gauge needle 1/2" long. Some do it into the muscle in larger doses once a week. I didn't want to poke holes in my muscles the rest of my life. I also like a more level testosterone. So I split my dose into twice a week

I knew about IMJ, the pellets, and the gel, but I didn’t know they made test that could be injected subcutaneously. If it’s not too invasive a question, what dosage are you able to use with this method and what level is your doctor looking to maintain?

Subcutaneously uses the same liquid. Most doctors don't know about it or follow it. I tried it myself trial and error. And watched my bloodwork for results.

I dose .35ml @ 200ng concentration every three days. I try to keep my numbers around 700-750. Some push more. I like it at that level. Too much makes me an a-hole hehe.

I do monitor my estradiol as it spikes about 12 hours after testosterone does. If it starts to get to high I take a small part of a blocker 12 hours. Ideal range is 20:1 test to estradiol. For my age about 25 is ideal. Stops the bloating and fatigue. TDthejudge at Google mail is email.

You can check out the forums at tnation.com hormone replacement. It's been spot on. Listen to the guy Ksman. He's legit. Been doing it for years now.

It is IMPORTANT to figure out why you need supplement. Once your on it it's for life. In some instances you can take a blocker and drop the estradiol and she'd a ton of weight if you are overweight. Work out and stack on muscle and get your testosterone back naturally.
