I went down the rabbit hole of those guys that go around finding cars in rivers for missing people (like Adventures for Purpose) and they always find a shite ton of cars off boat ramps.

Yeah this is why

The vast majority here have a trailer hitch that’s still factory shiny.

So probably not many here would have this problem.

This happens so often that I'm beginning to think that we need a separate trailer/boat towing license.

You'd do the same if your truck was headed to the bottom of the lake.

I said it a few weeks ago this is how I launch my boat every time. Just makes things easier.

I don't know how these trucks struggle. When I was a kid my dad used a 4cyl Volvo 240 to tow our boat. Never an issue.

I've used a 2x4 tacoma many times.
Most of these boats aren't That big. What is going on here?

Adventures with purpose are great. Love the cold case videos where they find and recover missing love ones that been gone for 20 years

Lost his baw status in the process, too.

Hope he remembered to put in the plug better than he remembered to set the parking brake

I grew up in west Texas where water was scarce, dad sold our boat when I was young. I can't say I know how to successfully launch any style boat. This type of thing has been a slight reason for never getting into boating.

100% agree. I see people towing trailers driving 80+ all the time. A couple of years ago my daughter (no pics) and I were driving north of Canton, MS on I55, a lady zoomed around us towing a 5x8 type trailer hooked to a large SUV, I told my daughter how dangerous that was in particular due to the trailer being empty and very light. About that time it started bouncing and came unhooked. The safety chains ripped apart instantly. Could have easily killed someone behind her who was not paying attention.

When I was a kid we had a 18 foot tri hull, Dad towed it with our 62 Ford station wagon that had a straight 6, and “ 3 on the tree”.

The difference between you and the people who wind up on these videos is that you recognize your limitations.
