IF she is telling the truth, he was getting his ID as was demanded by the officer. Is he supposed to just ignore him?

You are supposed to inform them you have a CCR, and that should ease the situation, but cops are pussies so it doesnt.

My dad got pulled over, told the cops he had a CCR, and the guy immediately drew down on him and called for all the backup be could get.

thats been my dealings with it for the most part besides one incident. "Hey officer I just wanna let you know I do have my CCL and I am carrying concealed on my right hip at this moment. I also have another handgun between the center console and passenger seat." A few times they have asked me to step out and disarm me. Others they have been like "cool, just don't reach for it and we won't have a problem." I also already have my license and insurance card out by the time they make it to the window.

So you can just change your race at a moment's notice then, right?

Her narrative changes in the car. Says he was asked for ID and told the officer he had a gun. Officer told him not to move and he reached..( she pauses and said he reached his hands up) and that's when he was shot. I'd be willing to bet and hoping the officer has a camera that shows something different

This.

the cop was obviously scared and paniced and handle the situation very poorly

You have video proof of this?

But if this idiot wants to kill a cop, it's just all thought of being in the line of duty.

Not only that, but they get praised in the community for killing a pig cop.

Uhh, using a little restraint and logic when there is a 4 year old in the back seat maybe. Cop says get your ID, and then shoots him for reaching to get it.

All because he told then he had a CCR, which many many classes tell you to do.

interested to see if the officer had a lapel cam . You know there's dash cam footage/audio of the altercation.

Again, a lot of people here are making huge assumptions based on a video right after the incident of an involved party that obviously is of the makeup that could play this to her advantage. I'd wait until more footage comes out (and it will) and get more of the story before crucifying this cop.

I got pulled over a while back. I keep a loaded Beretta M9 in a holster attached to the dash directly below the steering wheel. When the cop walked up I told him it was there and he just said "Thanks for informing me".

But I am white so I got that going for me... which is nice.

according to her he was reaching for his license

ding to her he asked for him to retrieve his license.

That's scary man. I consider myself a level headed gun owner and would do whatever an officer asked me to do. I would also have been like this guy(if you have a concealed carry permit you are by law required to notify law enforcement that you have your weapon on you) and took steps to ensure both my safety and comfort as well as the officers.

Then what the frick does a person who is legally carrying a concealed weapon have to do not to get killed by a fricking cop?

Let the officer know you are carrying and don't take it upon yourself to go reaching into pockets or behind you. Pretty simple

just seems like if a person was upfront enough to tell you about the gun and his license that you should be a little less on edge and trustworthy?

and if the guy did reach to show the cop his license, we are all just ok with the cop shooting him? no harm, no foul?

i've had one for 2 years now. I have not installed it in my new car i've had for a year till yesterday. Something just made me feel uneasy enough to finally put it up. You know. In case i had to mow over some rioting citizens of BR or something like that.

Then how do you get your license out when that cop instructs you to? Pretty fricking confusing if you ask me.
