Will be interesting to hear the spin they put on this one for sure. Either way, I imagine this cop is fricked and rightfully so if it is as blatant as it seems. That dude definitely did not deserve to die. He also doesnt deserve to have his death plastered all over Facebook live because his girlfriend wants likes. Record it if you must but streaming it straight to Facebook as he is dying is really disturbing. So fricked up.

Nah, in most squad cars they mount horizontally on the cage and vertical(rarely) in the Tahoes.

I think she thought he was just shot in the arm when she started recording.

recorded videos can be deleted. Streaming live to Facebook immediately brings attention to the situation, allows people to screen grab it or share it, and goes into a server where it will pretty much forever be stored. How easy would it have been for the cops to take her phone when she was "detained" and delete the video.

I don't really. I just feel like people get guns to make themselves feel badass. I won't even draw the damn thing unless I just have to.

Of course, I also spent my first 3 years working without a vest, anything that ID'd me as an officer, and a .380. That might have something to do with my views.

back to the video, this guy screaming about Republican support for Israel over support for "Black America".

I wouldn't have done it, but streaming it was a good move. Now it doesn't mysteriously disappear during investigation.

I suppose that is a possibility. Either way, Facebook live? Its sad that we have devolved to a point where thats the first thing someone would think to do.

ETA: Just saw the other posts. Didnt consider that about the video possibly being deleted. It wouldnt have been my first thought that is for sure but it was smart, I will give her that. It still seems fricked up to have his death on Facebook for everyone to see. I would not want to go out like that. Tragic all around.

the majority never want 2

some do, because they get scared, some do, because they are gung ho.

34 years and my dad only fired his gun, 1 time, 1 shot. He is a bullshitter, so the blacks would eat him up, and he could diffuse the situation, especially when most calls were domestic back then.

some people feel like some guys become cops to feel badass.

I'm not hating on cops, have a lot in my family, just pointing out my observations. There are two sides to the argument, but as long they're within the bounds of the law, it doesn't really why have a gun.

I couldn't sleep at night if someone close to me was in law enforcement. Free donuts aside, I can't imagine a more thankless job where everyone hates you unless they need you. Terrible pay, shift work and a-hole patrol...yeah um no thanks.

Are you kidding??? that's the only way to ensure that the cops don't destroy her phone and the only copy of the video that she has. Really amazing presence of mind for her to calmly film the aftermath realizing that it might be her only recourse

I don't know about donuts, but I know a few places around where I grew up that give out free fountain drinks and coffee to the 5-0. They like to have the cops in and out during the day and whatnot. The cops will also usually buy stuff from there too, so it's a win-win for the owners.

Yeah, I always feel awkward about getting discounts and stuff. I generally try and avoid it.

I've always instituted free coffee/sodas for LEOs/EMTs and a discount on food... Usually 15% out of uniform and 25% in uniform.

I admitted that i did not consider that and changed my stance on it. Smart move that I likely would not have considered under those circumstances.

ETA: And only on the OT can I realize I was wrong, own up to it, and still get downvoted.

I don't know how it feels, but I know I always thought if I was serviceman and someone tried buying my meal or something that I'd really offput by it. I guess I'll never know since I didn't serve, but just always seemed like something that would make most people feel awkward.

I also cringe when I'm at a bar or something and someone drunk guy is carrying on about thanking a guy for his service and buying him drinks and shite. Like the dude just wants to have some beers and drink in peace without all shite. But again, I'm not in the service, so maybe they don't mind that sort of thing.
