Well the rents certainly aren't going down. That's for damn sure.

I’m headed to AZ in a month. Looking forward to ditching baton rouge and Nola for Phoenix/Scottsdale

You wouldn't be the first OTer to make that move. I've never been, but I might be taking a trip out that way later this summer.

The department is a dumpster fire. People are leaving left and right to make nearly double their current starting salary, the chief is punishing people for standing up to him, writing up letters of discipline according to what the mayor wants for things that aren't even important and the list could go on and on and on.
Just remember, the chief is the head, but the mayor is the neck. And the mayor can turn the head whichever way she chooses.

We have an opportunity to transfer to Charlotte with my wife's company. I'm so damn entrenched in my industry here though so I'm having a tough time even considering it on top of having an opportunity to buy the company I'm currently with. With a 4 year old though, it's now or never.

If the people who went out to vote in the presidential election would have gone back out and vote in the runoff, she would probably not be mayor.
I hate to break it to you, but Bodi White wouldn't have been much better.

I thought this was going to be about SWB resigning.

I am a 4th generation LSU alum, but Ruston is a small, safe town. The next generation in my family will likely go to Tech.

Well then who’s buying these luxury homes off Highland Road? There’s no shortage of newer developments too that are exceeding 500k.

I had an opportunity in Raleigh in about 2007 that my wife nixed at the last minute because she found out she was preggers. I kind of regret not doing it anyway. We'll be here for 6 more years unless my employment situation changes for some reason

I feel horrible for the poor baws who are stuck there because they have been on the force for too long. Basically being tortured until retirement just because they're too far into their careers to change and still get a solid pension.

Agreed Paul. There are a lot of high end developments in SBR. Some people are doing well here. I think the nicer areas in BR are shrinking but parts of the city will be fine

I know Bodi a little bit and he wouldn't have been anything like SWB.

Just a different flavor of incompetent.

How? Hell he practically Brexit'd Central from EBRSS which has been a positive for that community. He's a bit of a backwoods conservative if that isn't your thing but he wouldn't have been a race baiter or a cop hater by any means.

Take a cruise through Gardere. Swing by the bottoms by LSU.
This is not JUST NBR.

Having lived off highland rd all my life I agree...also you can say if you're white the crime stats are probably in line with most of the country

It's not Pakistan anymore. While it's certainly not nice, the crime in that neighborhood is way down. It's pretty rare to hear about a murder in Gardere these days.

Here you have a point. This area appears to be slowly gentrifying from all sides, however. The hood is shrinking.
