by good enough I mean that he does well on the entrance exam and does a good job in the interview as well.
I went there and had no connections and come from a middle class family. I didn't mean good enough in the sense that you have to have money and know the governor to get in but if that's how you feel then maybe it isn't the place for your kid.

Well yeah i get that part. We're out by MBS. Have a 3 month old girl. Haven't thought that far ahead but I assume since St. Mike's is a 10 minute drive at most, that's where she's likely going to go. I did a career day presentation there last year and it was a nice place.

yes they can, but i think it has alot to do with proximity.
not really...I lived pretty close to Bishop but went to CHS. Proximity never came into play.

Most try to go to CHS and you left out the greatest school of them all...St. Aloysius...don't let it happen again

Most of STM go to Catholic and SJA. But it really depends. The year my daughter went there it was half SJA/Catholic and half St. Michaels. This year it is a SJA/Catholic and BRHS

It was simply a question to your good enough remark.
From the comments, i'm getting the impression that Catholic is an upper tier school, above the likes of St. Michael's, talking academics wise here.
I didn't know Catholic high was that highly regarded.

Where does your kid go to school right now?

St. Jude to CHS here.
I remember having kids from all places though. CHS is just a really good school (same for girls going to SJA). I don't regret my decision at all.
I kinda liked how there were no girls for extra drama all the time. It was also funny how an OT 3 would appear as an IRL 10 on our campus.

I lived about a mile from St. Michael's and still chose to go to CHS.
Glad I did too, because a large portion of the graduating class of my year from St. Michael's screwed up really bad grade wise and never got into good universities. Its not the education they're receiving, there was just a culture of "I don't care" among their student population.

Primary "feeder" schools for CHS are:
OLOM
St. Aloysius
St. Thomas Moore
St. George
Secondary "feeders" are:
Sacred Heart
St. Jude

I wouldn't say that...we had kids from every school in the parish and some from across the river. There really aren't any main "feeder" schools

My kid is only two and another is 3 months.
We live just outside BR so we aren't in the parish of any of the catholic elementary schools/churches so I was thinking of picking one now and becoming a parishioner of that church so i can get my kid into that school.

St. Theresa in Ascension Parish and Holy Family in WBR had kids go to CHS...at least in my class

This is a good idea. Make sure you pay the $350 to the church so you will not have to pay extra for school! My kids were at STM and now my oldest is at SJA and my other one will be there next year. Good luck!

quote:Why these assumptions? Location?
I would assume St. Jean Vianney and St. Thomas Moore go to St. Michaels
Our Lady of Mercy and St. Alphonsus most likely goes to Catholic I would assume.
