He'll commit another murder. Why wouldn't he, knowing how easy it is to get away with it?

Wouldn’t say it’s “that easy”, along with said jail time, to just go out and kill quickly.

jurors are his peers and he’s only killing his peers, I really don’t give a frick.

Agree. I'm in favor of the local gov't giving them all a free gun. Y'all keep it on that side of the tracks and go at.

Not sure here, but it sounds like Demond Mack is a black guy, and Billie Harrington was a white guy.

Black jury finds black guy innocent of murder of a white guy. Not surprised.

I doubt it is much higher in BR.

You'd be staggeringly wrong.

Only 4 days for a murder trial including deliberations? That’s wild.

That’s about the norm for state murder trials that aren’t high profile.

While I don't keep a running list of every murder trial in Baton Rouge, I'm generally aware of every one, and I'm certainly aware of any of them that are interesting, and an acquittal would certainly fall under that category. Off the top of my head, I remember Shedrick Lobrano in 2017, the two guys accused of killing the LSU grad student in 2013, and Boosie in 2012. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but I would bet significant money that there are fewer than one murder acquittal per year, on average, in EBR, regardless of race. I would estimate the acquittal rate to be in the single digits.
