thats the rumor as to why pratte is selling his whole collection. get out while the prices are high

Prices will probably never be this high again, this year's BJ will auction is going to put a huge dent in matching #s car values across the board with the over inflated prices these frickers are paying for replicas

i think the bidding is a combo of a few things

1. these people have a ton of money
2. their egos get in the way of making smart bids
3. plenty of the are drinking

The $1,000,000 is for the rights to buy the 1st production serial # 001 of that car is what I understood. Buyer still has to pay for the car from the dealer.

I'm taking a ton of pics. Haven't seen where the Pratte cars are at yet. Just the tents outside are massive. Sooo many cars.

That 2015 GT350R is flat out amazing. And I'm not a much for mustangs or ford in general. That new body design is money. Saw one on the road today and it is just sinister the way it sits.

I am going to assume that Hertz doesn't mean a rental

My neighbor rebuilt a 65 fastback from nothing, and he put the hertz decal on his. I asked him about it, and he was talking about the reason it was on there, but I have forgotten what it was.

Because Hertz had a thousand Fastbacks in their rental fleet: Details...

quote:

In September of 1965 Shelby American General Manager Peyton Cramer struck up a deal with Hertz to offer the 1966 GT350H Mustang as a rental car.... As Ford puts it, “The idea was to put high-performance, special-edition Shelby Mustang coupes into the hands of racing enthusiast-minded rental customers.” That’s right, if you were a Hertz Sports Car Club member back in 1966 (and 25 years of age), you could drive off the rental car lot in a performance 306 hp Mustang fastback. Total cost: $17 a day and 17 cents a mile.
