Sort or on topic. Spent some time at the DMV in Slidell yesterday. Have to admit I really haven't been to Slidell much since Katrina. But holy shite the people watching is fantastic. You can tell the people that are from Chalmette and are finally starting to accept their new redneck neighbormates. You can look at them and tell where they are originally from but they are almost like a new breed of people culture. Fascinating

Think I'm a go there today for lunch and show them this thread... got some nice specialty burgers there btw
It's been a few years since I've been there. I work in NOLA East and had been there for lunch a time or three and yes, their burgers were pretty damn good, albeit a little pricey compared to Brewster's.

One truth on the show was that he's been there 25 years. He moved to a different place after Katrina and then moved to the place he's at now about 7-8 years ago... And the masses followed him wherever he went. I don't know him personally but could tell people gravitated to him for whatever reasons. I don't think he'll ever go under and I remember thinking "why does he need rescuing? It's all just for show." when I heard from coworkers who live in Chalmette that they were doing the show there.

at the end when they were all dressed up, she was the only slightly attractive one in the bunch. The rest were like putting lipstick on a pig !
Kitchen lady was obviously eating a lot of the profits as well as running up a $2k bar tab.
Giving the place a face lift will help. But, i can't see the place being profitable for long.

I think with this and restaurant impossible they usually still fail
I guess a bar would be easier to turn around in a week vs restaurant

yeah maybe he was just sloppy in a few areas
It is so hard for them to change in some cases. Particularly when they were sucessful hard to get them to understand they need to change
also some people shouldn't be running something lol
I hate his fish thank though
