there are crying brats in first class as well.

I don't think you're thinking this through

I think the core of Peckers message today is that he feels entitled to not fly with the parents he hates even though he can't afford to upgrade. Insecurity and elitism he can't afford are the themes of the day.

Are you under the impression that babies aren't allowed in first class? Because they are there as well. Or haven't you flown first class to know that?

I learned that flight attendants won't let you change seats if you're sitting next to a screaming kid if the child is yours.....

I have experience with parents who know how to control their kids. Does that count?

You can't control small children, but you can manage their behavior. It starts with recognizing that they are typically crying because they are tired, hungry, or thirsty.

Taking a toddler to the lavatory to scream does nothing for any of those problems.

The social contract bro. It requires you accept certain inconveniences that humanity will occasionally place on you. You have no right not to be annoyed. You pays your ticket you takes your chances. You can always walk if you want.

The best argument anyone has made in this thread. It's not a bad position that shite just happens. The problem I have is the parents who refuse to do nothing. The parents who think "frick you, I don't feel like doing anything about it."

It's trashy and it's bad parenting. It's a bad look when a 3-7 year old cries and throws a temper tantrum and the parents cant get the kid quiet.

I don't have experience as a parent but I have experience as a child. I would have had my arse beat in the bathroom if I acted that way on a plane. It's why I never acted that way on a plane. It's bad, lazy parenting, plain and simple. And there are a lot of lazy parents here who think it's ok to inconvenience people because muh child

You already proved you don't know what this is. You wrote 4 paragraphs just to show me you don't know what it is.

Ok, first off, there are more folk on the plane than just you. That alone puts you into a situation where you have to interact with others. You may not want to, but as soon as you purchased the ticket you did so.

Second, the notion that a parent can just "quiet" their child by hauling them to the coffin sized bathroom is not feasible. Seriously, you must not have kids because you would know this.

Third, airlines are more inclined to "allow" babies/small kids to act up. they usually don't pose a problem. On the other hand, adults who act up are usually doing so because of some outside influence, booze, making a statement, pissed that they're traveling and airlines don't cotton to that. Neither do air marshals. I don't think you are going to get your way, but it's your right to complain and bitch. You'll most likely continue to do so as long as you keep flying.

quote:

1) interaction =/= disruption. Disrupting passengers is not allowed and you will be removed from a plane for causing disruptions.

2) The passenger area will, by default, become quieter when the parent removes the disruptive child and takes it to the bathroom. I don't care how large the bathroom is, that's not my problem. I don't care how long it takes you in that bathroom to get that child quiet. Not my problem.

3) I didn't say airlines weren't more inclined to do so, so I don't know who you're arguing with here. I'm simply saying they shouldn't be as lenient because it's equally disruptive even if not threatening.

So again, how is this a failure in logic?

Waiting...

the kids " who get their arse beat" are as bad as the kids that are " mommys little snowflake ". You raise children by explaining why they should behave, and they having respect for you , will tend to model their behavior after yours. We travelled with kids and got compliments . At no time was anybody struck or threatened. You just talk to them. By three years old, they should listen, hold your hand and smile if you aren't screwing up the whole parenting thing. These are your peeps. No need to beat your peeps. Beat the other guy's peeps.
