For a good depiction of life in North Korea, read "The Orphan Masters Son". While fiction, it uses factual things about the tyrannical regime to tell an incredible story.

Theres nothing wrong with kids working in the field. My grandmother is 82. She and all her 11 brothers and sisters worked on our family farm to provide cor themselves.

They aren't taught about earth and sun rotation and seasonal changes. They are taught the leader Kim shakes a branch outside his office to change seasons so the farmers must beg him for good grace to change seasons for crops.

NK maybe a totally impoverished nation but the military is very well armed. Pheasants don't stand a chance fighting with rocks and sticks.

China doesn't want us to liberate North Korea because they'd be inundated with a massive humanitarian crisis.
Millions of dirt poor and malnourished people would flood into their country.
I truly think that's why it hasn't been done.
Also, they have a ton of natural resources and the fight over that would get ugly.
