Well you would be wrong. From last year:

quote:

But Lamar, who swept the Grammy Awards in all five categories in which he was nominated, winning both Record and Song of the Year, won't take home a paycheck to match these feats. He'll follow other major performers in earning less than the cost of a ticket to the game — if anything at all.

The NFL not only has a track record of never paying big bucks to performers, it has even charged some artists for the privilege

So many good musicians. This will be 6 consecutive years of rap/hip hop.

Usher, Rihanna, The Weeknd, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez are not rap/hip hop.

"Well it's all ETHNIC music! It's time we take our country back and demand they play some HANK or TOOL!"

People have no clue that halftime is just a long ad.

They promote the artist and their new project. Sell tickets and albums.

It's a good investment for an artist that needs to sell tickets.

That’s not the case here. He’s got a world tour coming up and he will sell out all of his shows

Yeah he has 3-5 shows in some of the bigger cities in Europe

He wouldn’t be performing that many days unless he was selling out

Bad Bunny on headlining the Super Bowl halftime show:

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

Can still buy tickets to all his concerts in Sao Paulo, Spain and Austrailia via ticketmaster.

Not sure when they "sold out"

Can’t wait!

Just kidding. Heard of him a lot but never heard a song he’s done.
I’m definitely not the target demo though. Wish him the best. Terrible SB choice in my worthless opinion

I don't think The Weekend would qualify as rap or hip hop

He's only got a hundred billion streams on Spotify, so naturally the OT boomers will be here saying "WHO?! NEVER HEARD OF HIM!"
I've never heard a single track. What a stupid name.

He just had a residency tour in PR that did well

In similar fashion I have never heard a Morgan Wallen nor Bad Bunny track.

I have heard of them and know they are big though.

Doesn't negate someone's reach if I don't know/care about them.

Well yeah, he is Puerto Rican.

Still stands. Doing the Super Bowl is a PR (public relations) move. Is promotional.

I guess the NFL has completely given up on trying to market their product to everyone
