Older people don't realize that no one wants Boomer music for the half time show. I liked The Who and Aerosmith half time but they aren't what's popular now. This bunny guy is huge. Most of us just don't listen to popular music i often skip the half time show anyway

1) they are doing just that
2) you clearly have never been to a cowboys game, or any other nfl game in a city with a lot of Hispanics

His point is you're not the target audience. People age 21 to 35 are.

I did a project on NFL marketing in grad school. The Latino market is actually where they were blowing up at the time.

Simply, it's the Largest area for growth.
Double latino numbers, or increase white/black by 2%.
Where do people think they're going to focus?

quote:

Latino viewership for football is significantly increasing, driven by NFL's targeted initiatives like Spanish-language broadcasts, cultural partnerships, and the rise of Latino players, alongside the general growth of Hispanic engagement with sports on digital platforms and their $3.6 trillion purchasing power, according to Nielsen and other reports.

This isn't true. American football is growing around the world. There is a demand for it outside the country. They are televising more games almost every city has anerican football bars. I know of a Saints one in Paris.
Its 100% expanding

Which is why the NFL is trying to expand its viewership with this "music."

You not agreeing doesnt make it wrong. Half of the people upset in this thread swore off the nfl over kneeling anyway.

messcans love them some Cowboys but soccer is almost like a second religion in European, South/Central American countries, the NFL isn't even scratching the surface, as far as never been to a Cowboys game, my daughter worked for them for 10 years and my wife is a huge Cowboys fan, so unfortunately I've had to spend many a Sunday afternoon at Jerry World watching Jerry's kids do their thing

He's making an argument that the NFL is making a concerted effort to target overweight black women. It's absurd, and I think he likely just wants to argue.

I swore off the NFL long before that. The kneeling shite was just a verification that they want hood rats more than they want traditional sports fans.

I agree the NFL is trying, but again, they're not going to even come close to competing with soccer in those countries, cities of millions literally close down during big matches that heir team is playing in

Converting a soccer fan to a football fan is not goal. The goal is to make these people fans of both sports.

And the Niners, and the Raiders, and the Steelers. Mexico has 131m people living there, if the NFL can get 1% of those people that is 1.3m new viewers.

This is ignoring that Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican and the NFL is huge in PR behind baseball, and the amount of Puerto Ricans who live in NY/NJ/Chicago/Florida are also big NFL fans from my experience.

Having someone who only sings in Spanish do the halftime show is a valid criticism, but from a marketing stand point it was a fantastic move by the NFL. You aren't losing out on your core base because they will watch regardless, and you double down on your outreach to a new demographic.

Bad Bunny already performed on MNF back in 2023, so all the "I've never heard of him crowd" either doesn't watch the games or are lying. If it is the former they weren't watching the Super Bowl anyway so who cares, and if it is the latter then congrats on being internet cool.

well, that’s not the goal. People can be into more than one sport.

As Hispanics here become more Americanized, getting them to like football is easier. Many Americans have a favorite epl team and watch games, buy gear, travel for games to the UK. The same thing is happening in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina
