Ever heard of Gainesville Green?

G'vll Green

Gainesville Green is a cannabis sativa strain typically grown in Gainesville, Florida. It got its name from Gainesville since the early 70s this marijuana strain was among the first species to be cultivated and widely accepted. In the 1970s, Gainesville Green was the ultimate high. This locally grown strain of marijuana was the most used and popular weed, it was used above Jamaican and Mexican weed because of its high potency.

or Acapulco Gold?

Acapulco Gold

We grew the prior. Ehm... I heard it was grown local.

You weren't paying attention then. Everyone was complaining about the possibility of $1 per gallon gasoline.
And not one of them would have thought they would ever have to pay for water. Everyone drank tap water back then, and businesses had water fountains, that we believed were safe.

I worked at a Gulf station in the 70's and checked oil, water in radiators, wiper fluid, transmission fluid, brake fluid, even the air in all four tires, for anyone who asked. A couple of widows asked me to do all of that every time they bought gas. We nearly always had an open can of each, and would top theirs off with it for no charge.

You would think better weed would equal better music, but perhaps there is a tipping point at which a person is just too fricking stoned to do anything but let a computer program make r2d2 sounds.

The 70's were a party, partly in reaction to the shitty economic times.

We have the shitty economics and the opposite of "partying" today.

I don’t think he’s finishing out his term, either because of death or incapacitation. One of the most colossally stupid politicians in world history will be President at any moment.

Now, we have the high gas prices and inflation, but no good music.

We also had comedy.

But that was before progressives censored that and forced everyone into political correctness under threat of canceling our means of earning an income.

And Carter was honest albeit incompetent. These current SOBs were around for Carter and are more inept and criminally corrupt.

I don't recall anyone ever complaining about the actual prices in the 1970's, they were more concerned with the scarcity and rationing.

Actual prices and the possibility of prices are 2 different things. Jesus this world is becoming dumber than a doorknob.

People were wondering because the price rose by 250% in a matter of 6 or 7 years rising to right under $1.00 as the 70s ended.

You're response indicate you may be right about some people being dumber than a door knob.

Then you weren't in the housing market back then when there were double digit interest rates on home loans.

I was referring specifically to the high gas prices which actually didn't reach $1.00 national average till 1980. I said nothing about interest rates, inflation, housing etc in the 70's. Yes, I'm very well aware of the stagflation in the Carter years and Reagan/Volcker's gameplan in the early 80's. But specifically for gas prices, the 70's were not so much about the sticker shock at the pump, it was much more about the scarcity at the pump.

Prove me wrong if you so incline. That's a fact Jack.
