The young dumbass generation elected the president we now have. Once wasn't good enough, elected him twice!

lol. My dad with no college education made way more than I did (at 18 vs me at 22) when adjusting for inflation.
Maybe you should have gone the blue collar route I worked full time in 1980, went to college at night and made $3.10 an hour in a steel facility.
You can go from High School to the gold mines around here and make more than the average college grad.

Apparently many boomers weren't taught the simple math required to adjust for inflation.

Any white baby boomer who isn't worth at least $1 million dollars is a fricking dope (I understand if you are African American or Hispanic that there would have been some more hurdles to overcome - especially back in the 60's and thereabouts).
They have had bar none the most unbelievable luck in EVERYTHING and they bitch about EVERYTHING.
I'm kind of pissed that my parents aren't worth $20 million - if you put me in their shoes I'd have been worth $20 million easily by now.
Buy a fricking $25,000 house anywhere in metro NOLA or Metairie 40 years ago and it would be worth at least $400,000 today. Halfway there. Invest a mere $500 in your 401K or IRA from age 20 to 65 and BOOM there's your next $600,000.
Not even addressing social security, salary, etc.
Unbelievable luck. Any schmuck who's enjoyed the roaring stock market, real estate, job security and social security blanket that baby boomers have and isn't a millionare by now is borderline worthless.

U.S. Steel in Birmingham is laying off 1100 people. Factory/plant jobs don't exist in abundance anymore. Why is that so hard for Boomers to grasp?

I say this meme is total bullshite, but y'all can believe what you want and, for those of you who are begging for the boomers to retire, the vast majority of them have not reached retirment age.

Late 70's, early 80's unemployment in the South was sky high, interest rates were in the 20% range. Some of you have a horrible sense of history.
The 50's were booming, everything after, not so much.

Plants are currently hiring like crazy in anticipation of the big retirement and new projects. Lake Charles is a good example.

LC is hiring because of big projects. Has nothing to do with retirements. Problem is there are only so many 'managers' job to go around. This generation doesn't want to start at the bottom.
I have a college degree. I am a manager!

My grandmother...one if the greatest people I've ever known. She would get upset or feel disrespected when all of us younger folk have to text and do shite on our phones and tablets all the time. They don't understand how the world operates now. This is the same for many baby boomers.

What's a pension? I don't get the same benefit. It's all up to me to make sure I'm financially viable in my later years of life.
I hear you.
Seems you have been misled about previous generations. Pensions died out long ago for most people.
Everyone's a victim. Don't let me take that away from you. It's the "in" thing.

Ain't that the truth. Where did this culture of mass victimhood come from? It's depressing as hell.
