Theda Bara, 1917

Sorry, my mistake, this is actually Poison Ivy of The Cramps. And her freckles

Clean her up and she's got some Nicole Kidman going on

My dad had that album by Herb Albert. As a kid I was fascinated by the music and the album cover.

She was a true patriot. A beautiful saint who brought cheer and genuine affection to an entire generation of American GIs. God bless her.

Playmate Jo Collins
She also visited the troops in Vietnam

From Wiki:
She was nicknamed "G.I. Jo" for her United Service Organizations tours to entertain the troops during the Vietnam War. She first went to Vietnam to meet 2LT Jack Price of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Price sent to Hugh Hefner in November 1965 a letter purchasing a lifetime subscription to Playboy, for which the magazine promised that a Playmate would deliver the first issue personally. The letter requested Collins as the Playmate. Price was wounded in action on 3 January 1966, forcing Collins to reschedule the visit to before he was medically evacuated on 13 January. General Ellis W. Williamson named her an honorary Sky Soldier, and Company B renamed itself "Playboy Company".[2][3]

My dad had that Album as well, and I stared at the cover as a kid...

Did you know it spent 8 weeks at number 1 and 65 weeks in the top 10..

Other artist parodied that cover over the years...

Kid in my class in elementary school in Hawaii had a Dad who owned a car dealership. They had Jo Collins come in for some event. I was over at my friend's house and saw and briefly talked to Jo Collins. I was a little too young to catch any significance other than "there's some girl at my friend's house who is doing a promo."

In 5th grade, we started raiding the dumpster at the BOQ on the Marine Base, scoring Playboy magazines from time to time. I figured out who Jo Collins was and why she was important LOL

Can you imagine the meltdown the liberal arts majors would have today if the USO sent Playboy bunnies on tours of overseas bases?
