Thats what you get for not driving a MANual

Bad news; they put them on manuals now too. The car comes back to life once you put the clutch in. Can’t wait until that sensor fails and leaves folks dead at a stoplight.

Learn two foot driving. Keep gas pedal down to keep rpm’s up while simultaneously jamming the brake pedal to keep you stopped.

Aka POWER BRAKING!

Oh God

I would lose it if my car had that.

It shuts down every time the car isn’t moving. Then restarts when you hit the pedal.

That sounds downright dangerous. Wtf.

It serves no real function. It is all about the car manufacturers gaming the government mpg requirements. Just a cat and mouse game. Nothing more.

This is the first I’ve heard of this. When does it shut down or whatever? Why?

I have a Honda Pilot. When you idle the engine cuts off presumably to save fuel. When you press the accelerator it’s supposed to fire back up.

Mine sometimes won’t so I will be at a stop light and have to restart or be in a turning lane and have to put in park and restart.

They had a computer update that was supposed to fix it and it helped a little but car still does it.

It’s sucks

Automatic engine idle

Hard pass, I doubt I'll ever own a vehicle with auth engine shut off. The couple of times I've had it with rentals, it's just a big nope for me.

Yep. You can thank Obama and CAFE standards for that shite.

Automatic engine shutoff is such a farce. Add another one to the layers of shite that make your vehicle more expensive, like mandatory tire pressure sensors, mandatory backup cameras, mandatory fuel economy targets, etc etc etc

My old Trans Am had “skip shift”. It would make you go from first to fourth in light driving. It was infuriating to drive……. Tillll I got the power programmer for it.
